"Electric Love Hyper Lapse," as seen in the video above, is a four-minute ride through Jones' imagination, powered by software and an amazingly surrealistic vision of what the first cyborg kiss might look like.
To create the incredibly complex work, Jones used Corel's Painter, Adobe Photoshop CC and Zbrush, a digital painting and sculpting tool used widely by 3D artists.

"For me the thrill of art is the ability to see it being created," Jones told Mashable, from his 16-acre farm in Colorado. To make that happen, Jones used Telestream's ScreenFlow app to record nearly 18 hours of work completed over the course of several weeks.
With nearly 20 years of crafting these digital blends of the real and surreal behind him, Jones calls his work "trans-dimensional art" which advances the "evolution of consciousness as we approach the coming creative singularity."
Normally, such comments might be dismissed as artist statement esoterica, but Jones is so serious about his vision that he even takes his work into live settings like Burning Man and other art festivals.
Using a custom-built Wacom tablet and projectors, and accompanied by electronic music and dance performances from his collaborator and wife, Phaedra Ana, Jones' live events (you can see a video example above) do evoke a sense of an unfolding new art paradigm largely in step with our evolving technologies.

And, in recent years, he even rigged a truck he calls The Night Rainbow to serve as a mobile art studio. The vehicle, which is equipped with 500 watts of solar panels and a backup bank of marine batteries, also allows Jones to create art even when off the grid.
"I wanted to create a closed loop of energy to see how it would be to work only using sustainable power," Jones said.
