The 2016 MediaTek Helio X30 chipset release: 10nm, two more A73 cores
The MediaTek is pushing further into the lead chipset market with the Helio X30. The chipset is a successor to the principal deca-center (that is 10-center) chipset, the X20.e />The chip will be based on a premium procedure - 10nm, down from X20's 20nm. Indeed, even the iPhones will need to hold up until the 2017 models to achieve 10nm, while current Android leaders are at 14/16nm.
The move to a more proficient procedure permitted MediaTek to press in two additional effective centers (the more current Cortex-A73 for this situation). The X30 still uses a three island outline.
This makes it like an Exynos 8890 as it were - four "major" centers (A73 or Mongoose), then four "minimal" ones, yet this one includes an additional force sparing layer with two all the more "minimal" ones.
With X30 MediaTek is bouncing to a PowerVR 7XT quad-center GPU, that is the same group of GPUs as the ones utilized as a part of current iPhones and iPads. The chipset will bolster up to 8GB of LPDDR4, quick UFS 2.1 capacity and double cameras up to 26MP. A LTE Cat. 12 modem will offer bursting quick speeds with three bearer accumulation.
Likely, the MediaTek X30 chipset will be fabbed by TSMC, which will likewise do Apple Ax and HiSilicon Kirin. They will contend with 10nm chips from Samsung fabs (both Samsung Exynos and Qualcomm Snapdragon 830).
Odds are we'll be seeing X30-based items one year from now in June/July at the most punctual.
