Meizu Expected To Announce First Ubuntu-Powered Smartphone By January-End

Meizu is all set with their new releases for January-end. They will announce three new devices by the end of this month. A Weibo account called ChinaUbuntu leaked the news and it showed a teaser too, which featured some text which was incomprehensible too.

The leaked image is as shown below. The text on it is translated as “3 Happiness”. It indicates that three devices will be announced from the Chinese smartphone maker. Keeping aside all the other smartphones, what is most exciting is the first Ubuntu-powered smartphone from Meizu, which is expected to be launched in this lot only.

The image is also related to Ubuntu and some more images have also been leaked which hint at Meizu MX4 based on Ubuntu software. If the launch happens finally, this will be the first time Ubuntu will be entering the smartphone market. Unfortunately, the KickStarter campaign for the smartphone was a failure as it couldn't reach its funding target. Meizu has not announced anything officially though. So we have to wait for some more time when Meizu releases the official teaser on their own.
