Since its debut at MWC 2016, the LG G5 is gearing up to enter the Indian market soon. An announcement made by LG India reveals that the flagship smartphone will be launched in India in the next quarter.
Amit Gujral, Marketing Head – Mobiles, LG India, said “We are really happy to see all the positivity around the LG G5 ever since its global unveil at MWC. In fact, in a survey conducted in Korea the LG G5 topped consumer preference leaving its closest competitors trailing far behind. We hope to make this available to users in India very soon and are optimistic that consumers will love its revolutionary design and features.”
The highlight of the device is its modular design with a slide-out battery. A modular smartphone with separate components makes it easier to replace or upgrade certain functions independently. besides, the device sports a full metal uni-body design.
On the specs front, the G5 features a 5.3-inch QHD Always-On display with 1440 x 2560 pixels of resolution, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage and a 2800mAh battery. On the camera front, one can expect 16MP and 8MP rear cameras. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, a USB Type-C port that’s compatible with USB 3.0, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac.

The device measures 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7mm and weighs 159 grams. It will come dipped in slver, titan, gold and pink. It also gets an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, support for Quick Charge 3.0 and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The flagship is accompanied by LG’s Friends lineup of devices which include the LG 360 VR, 360 Cam, Rolling Bot, Tone Platinum, H3 by B&O Play, Smart Controller and Friends Manager. The LG Cam Plus is a camera grip add-on to enhance the camera experience.
In the G5 smartphone, a B&O sound system can be added by sliding a module into the phone case. Sliding in another module allows the phone, which is equipped with a 135-degree wide-angle lens, to be operated like a conventional camera.
Together with the Friends package, LG hopes that the G5 will be the phone that everyone wants.
